SGSA Charity Group
CHARITY BALLOON RACES

The SGSA charity group will be running their the balloon stand during the summer. The first outing on Sunday 25th May raised £200. (See Photo).
We will be operating again on the following days so if you can help if only for an hour or two you will be most welcome to join us. You will find our stall on the seafront near the information office:

Sunday 29th June
Sunday 24th August

Last year we raised over £1,000 and from previous receipts we forwarded donations to Casa Alianza, The RNLI and Bovington First School to help with a new kitchen, Mount Scar School and The Charity to help give Chernobyl children a holiday in Swanage.

Last Years Winners

One of the SGSA members won the aggregate prize of £200 from a winning ticket sent back from the Black Forest.
The winner from the RNLI events came from Salisbury, the winning ticket being returned from BFPO30 in Germany.
Yes, we do believe these are genuine returns!

Our final event in 2002 was on Swanage Station over weekend in December where we made over £200.

The charity group has been set up to distribute funds to deserving causes. Money will come from excess funds, members donations and from events such as the our balloon races. The funds will be distributed amongst  local causes, supporting members when in need or hardship and Casa Alianza. In addition we will be supporting the Sports Centre Project in Swanage. The group behind these events is pictured below.
