The SGSA Local Group's Christmas Party
Once again a number of us enjoyed the 2003 Christmas Party at the Conservative Club in Swanage. The evening started by
meeting old friends around the bar before sitting down to a buffet meal. Later we were entertained by "The Charity Folk".
This consisted of a group of four musicians playing and singing both traditional and seasonal songs. The group provide
their time freely, collecting money for local charities. Since formation about five years ago, the group has raised over
£34,000 for charity. As well as the collection after their performance, the local group presented them with a cheque for £100.
Later Brenda Hardy gave us an insight into life in Hong Kong with a very entertaining slide show following her recent visit.
During her four weeks there she had tried every local delicacy and almost one slide in two showed a bowl of this or a plate of that.
However as usual she kept us all enthralled throughout, having to run though her last cassette of slides in three minutes flat.
Bruce Chapman was our MC while Tom James gives a rendering from Dylan Thomas.
