The local group organizes social events in or around the Swanage area.

On Sunday April 6th 2003, a number of the group met at Swanage and enjoyed a walk over Peveril Point before returning for a Fish and Chip lunch The weather was good and the views across the bay were superb while we all enjoyed revisiting many old haunts around the area. For our next event in June we met at the Mowlem restaurant for a friendly chat over dinner before going into the theatre to see Half a Sixpence. It was a well presented musical produced by the local operatic society with a cast including Alan and Roza Aldridge. The event was a sell out with several requests from our members for extra tickets. 

During the summer we ran a number of Balloon Races in aid of both the SGSA Charities and the RNLI. During last summer we raised over £1,000.
