Chris Hutchings - First row seated, sixth from left. Also can you see David Mellor on the photo?
The Day after this photo was put on the website, the following letter was received:-
Hi Dermot,
I am an ex-pupil from around 1965-1969. I started in term 3 of the Ist year and
left at the end of term 2 of the 4th year. I have a hopeless memory for names
but can remember the following Chris Ford, Nigel Taylor and Nigel Stainer. I
used to live at Bovington Camp and remember well the early morning start to
catch the coach to Wareham station from where we caught the train to Swanage.
That first term it was a steam train, dirty and slow but always got us there on
time.
David Mellor was our "compartment prefect", occasionally he would join us in a
game of cheat (the card game) but he didn't stand a chance as we all could see
his hand in his glasses. If we weren't playing cards we were telling jokes and
it was during this time I believe I heard every possible combination of funny
story that has ever and will ever be told
